Jazz Band (Van Tech After Dark)
Grade 10-12 with director's permission and audition
This class is a performing ensemble made up of students who are interested in learning about and performing a variety of styles of music in the jazz idiom. VT After Dark is open to any student who has a genuine interest in jazz playing, demonstrates a reasonable command of the normal playing range of trumpet, trombone, saxophone, percussion, piano, guitar, or bass and has the desire to contribute to the overall success of the group. Students in this course are invited to participate in the annual Senior Music Tour. Participation in concert performances is an expectation of this course. Concerts will take place both during the school day and outside of regular school hours.
**Participation in another stream of our Music Program (Concert Band, Strings, Choir) is a co-requisite for Jazz Band.
