Chamber Choir (ChCh)
Grade 9-12 students with 1 year or more in musical experience (Wed/Fri 7:30-8:30am)
The Chamber Choir is a choir of 20-40 students that focuses on more difficult choral literature often breaking off into 6 or 8 voice parts in a single song. As this is a smaller choir, a strong understanding of vocal technique, ear training and music reading is a must. More complex techniques will be introduced throughout the year. Students in this course are invited to participate in the annual Senior Music Tour. Participation in concert performances is an expectation of this course. Concerts will take place both during the school day and outside of regular school hours.
*A vocal placement (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) audition is required to be in Chamber Choir.
**Students in Chamber Choir also have the option of auditioning for our Vocal Jazz group, VTOne. There are also positions available for vocal percussion(beat boxing), piano, guitar, bass, drums and other jazz instruments available to play in the VTOne accompaniment combo.
See below for midi part recordings to practice along with at home, as well as full ensemble midi recordings to sing along with.
